Global Warming SAVES MAN FROM CERTAIN DEATH…
GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE HAS SAVED A MAN FROM CERTAIN DEATH IN ANTARCTICA
Husvik, Antarctica (NNC) - A man trapped in the ice of Antarctica was rescued earlier today, having just barely survived his stint trapped underground.
The 35 year old geologist had been previously studying the effects of global warming on the environment. His research is what brought him to the frigid landscape in what was supposed to be a 3-month expedition to study the melting patterns of ice caps.
But when a ledge of ice slipped out from Mark Custer, causing him to plummet more than 30 feet below the ice, his survival seemed impossible.
However, the ice had been melting at an extraordinary rate and the heat from the sun was more than twice as strong as predicted. Therefore, Mark survived off of melted water and was able to stay warm for more than 3 days, even though he had been in normally fatal circumstances.
Mark and his team attributes this to the rapid changes of global warming on the environment. Typically, Mark would have died from cold in just the first day, but temperatures during their stay in Antarctica have been up to 10 degrees warmer than average. With the right temperature, Mark was able to stay alive until his team discovered his location.
Since the incident, Mark has reversed his standing on global warming. He has now become a staunch activist for the cause of global climate change, arguing that the ice caps are pointless and that the world could do with a bit more sun.
“Thousands of people die every year due to freezing. If we were to warm the globe, that could mean we could save thousands of lives. I know this - my life was.”
Mark was denied entry to speak at the G8 summit.
