Hitler Diaries to be Published in English…

New York, NY (NNC) - The controversial diaries discovered in Adolph Hitler’s bunker during the last days of the war are at long last being translated and published in English.

The diaries have long since been used as historic documents by German scholars and historians, but an effort to keep the documents private by German authorities has finally been circumvented and will be brought to America this fall.

One of the reasons the documents have been kept out of the public eye is because of the eccentric nature of the diaries. As Hitler choreographed World War II, the diaries parallel the war effort and reveal a disturbed, bizarre and often comical side to the infamous figure.

Amongst the excerpts being published is a scene where Hitler nonchalantly discusses his affinity for women’s clothing:

The suits that are tailored, the boots that are made, the hats that are sewn - none of these clothes can rival the beauty of a dress. Often I’ve wondered how I would appear in a woman’s dress made up just for me. I can imagine the cloth being soft as a cat’s fur, the cut hugging my form - with such beauty, an order could hardly be disobeyed.

The translator of the diaries is German born Karl Funkhauser, who has specialized in studies of World War II and, specifically, the Nazi regime.

“I believe it’s important for people to see the human side of Hitler. The insecure side, the passionate side, even the comedic side,” said Funkhauser. “But I will admit, most of it was just too bizarre not to be published.”

Indeed, as is not so difficult to believe, much of the published diaries are beyond strange. Another excerpt discusses Hitler’s love for, of all things - peas.

Round but not perfect, soft but not weak, shiny but not bright, colored but not flamboyant. I can not begin to express how thorough is my love for peas. I grab one in my hand and hold it against the light, turning it between my fingers. I ponder how such a small thing can command so much power over me. I can not imagine a life without peas. I might end the entire war simply for the right amount of peas. This sounds crazy, I know, but for some reason my heart tells me it is true.

But perhaps the most shocking entry into his diary was the detailed account of a particularly intense hemorroid.

IT DESTROYS ME. The pain is excruciating. My life has turned upside down. I can not think, I can not sleep, I can not live life. This hemorroid has advanced its hold over me and now I am helpless. Defecation has become a war of its own. How can I fight two wars at once? I believe I will name the hemorroid Little Jewess. If only I could send it to the camps and be done with it, everything would then be right.

The shocking and disturbing diaries will be published in September across America.
