Barack Obama denies accusations of being “black”

(CNN) - In what Barack Obama is calling an “apalling” attempt to discredit his bid for presidency and damage his reputation as a politician, rumors have begun to circulate accusing the democratic Senator of being African American.

The rumors began shortly after other black politicians, such as Reverend Al Sharpton, conveniently began voicing their support for Obama’s presidential bid, provoking suspicion in many political circles that there may be something to more to his popularity amongst African Americans. Furthermore, this doesn’t come as a surprise to many politicial analysts as Obama has in the past been accused of practicing favoritism and passing unfair legislation for the benefit of African American minorities, including support for affirmative action and equal opportunities.

But Obama vehemently denies any wrongdoing. “I never once tried to help the blacks of this country, and anyone who says differently is doing so to advance their own political cause,” the Senator said in a recent statement to the public. “And may I take this opportunity to address some rumors that have been circulating about my racial origins. I will say this one time and one time only - I am not African American. I am not black, never have been, nor will I ever.”

However, despite Obama’s staunch denial, not all are completely convinced. A quick overview of his voting history in the Senate reveals that he has voted in favor of civil rights legislation and against racial discrimination in the workplace. And even putting aside his political past, many geneticists, such as Dr. Robert Langley of Stanford University, have been studying the skin color and bone structure of Obama and are convinced that he exhibits several traits that are similar to those inherent in African American males.

Regarding Obamas race, Dr. Langley said “I have no doubts in my mind that Barack Obama is at least part-black. With this in mind, I think every American citizen would be making a mistake by voting for him. Imagine the consequences and chaos that would result from having a colored president running our country. Imagine how destructive a black president would be to the cause and advancement of this country’s national science - eugenics.”

And that’s a risk that some people aren’t willing to take. Having a black president in the White House, or even running for office, would undo much of the progress America has made towards purifying the white race in the last decade. Indeed, the grim memory of the Great Mexican Exodus (or as some termed, the “Mexodus”) still lingers in the mind of the average American. Additionally, the death and destruction caused by our country’s battle to purge the unclean illegal alien hordes from our great nation is still felt by many to this day.

However, there does remain the possibility that this latest accusation is just one of the many false rumors perpetuated by political rivals that has plagued this election’s various candidates. Indeed, just last month Hillary Clinton had to address accusations of his gender. It was only after having won an arm wrestling contest with Mitt Romney that he was able to successfully dispel any rumors that had been circulating.

And so we must give Barack Obama a chance to defend himself and supply him with the benefit of the doubt until further evidence is brought. Because that’s what America is about - giving people a chance.
