Dear Digg… we need to talk.

Dear ,

This is kind of hard for me to say but please, just let me talk. Honestly, I’ve really enjoyed a lot of the time we’ve spent together. But things just aren’t going the way they were when we first hooked up.

I still remember when we first met you offered me a chance when nobody else did. And I really appreciate that to this day. And I still remember the first time you helped me publish that essay on the gay KKK member and how you brought my blog a lot of good traffic. I even remember-

-WAIT- please- just let me finish. That’s one of your problems - you’re always interrupting me! Every time I want to say something, you bring up some other topic and then you and your douchebag friends totally outweigh me. You belittle me! Sometimes I just want to be heard, you know? Instead of being drowned out with rumors over your fucking iPhone or Java 2.0 or whatever. Just listen to ME for once.

I’m sorry, I got off on a tangent.

So whatever, I’ll just get right down to it. You promised me when we first met that you’d never cheat on me. But you have been and I know you have been. You care more about someone else than you do about me. In fact, call me crazy but I think you’ve been cheating with MULTIPLE people. As many as top 10, maybe more.

NO! But that’s just it! You’re not a democracy! You’re manipulative and you have all these other things going on that you don’t tell me about. And you- you make me feel so small. Not only that, but you’re judgmental too! Not everybody needs to know how popular they are! Sometimes it’s good to be UNpopular… why should I have to have tons of friends in order to be appreciated?

Yeah, okay that was like 3 times. But whatever. Listen, what I’m trying to say is… oh god this is so hard… Why do you make this so hard for me?

Um… I’m sorry Digg, I know this may not sound reasonable but I have to say it:

Can you make me #1 again?

Let me know what happens.

Sincerely,
The User
