White students beat black student to protest Jena 6 protest…

Springfield, IL - 3 white students at the Illinois Roberts High School in Springfield were suspended earlier today after beating a black student in their school cafeteria, allegedly in protest of the public support for Jena 6.
The victim, black male Johnathon Curtis, 15, was reportedly wearing a Free Jena 6 t-shirt and bracelet when he was approached by Benjamin Barnelli, 17, Blake Sheffield, 16, and Fredrick Tompson, 18. According to eye-witnesses at the school, they then began heckling Curtis, poking him with utensils and smearing food in his face before the fight broke out.
Barnelli punched Curtis in the back of the head which knocked the kid out of his chair and onto the cafeteria floor. The 3 white students then proceeded to beat Curtis, kicking and punching him for over a minute before a teacher broke up the fight.
Barnelli and his friends were then suspended from school in what the principal calls “foolish student behavior.” Curtis will also receive a similar punishment after being released from the hospital.
“Fighting in the cafeteria is never acceptable - not for the other boys of for Curtis,” Principal Red Reynolds told KXTV. “Though Curtis got the bad card, he had instigated the fight the moment he walked into our school with that shirt. They will all be given in-school suspension and have to write assignments on how to express yourself properly.”
Curtis has remained in the hospital and is due out within the week. He sustained a broken jaw and black eye from the attack.
His parents refused to comment on the incident.

Ditto. Until I get a source,I’m suspicious. I did news searches on “Illinois Roberts High School” and got only sports stories, on “Red Reynolds” and came up empty; ditto for “Johnathon Curtis.” What’s more, KXTV is in Sacramento, CA and their site reveals no such story, either.

Ditto, ditto. I’ve had too much bitter experience with disinformation planted to discredit good causes by Republicans are detractors, and all the Google and Digg hits seem to end at this post. So I want to see more.
